Great visuals! Funny to see that the no matter what the kid cannot catch a break against this kite and its relentless pursuit of freedom. Narratively the writing is strong, but I do wish either for another ending, or at least other choices you make through out making some small edit to the ending (i.e. knocks over some paint and ends up a different color at the end).
really love the visual elements you've created! The story itself is quite strong and being the kite is so unique! It was definitely my first choice. Since this is a prototype I wonder if you'll have sound in the future? (i saw the hal audio so i assumed sound is something you were playing with). Simply wish there was a bit more!
i loved the visuals! all of the elements feel like they fit the game, and the title-page illustration especially fits into the text really well. overall, the more minimal design makes it easier to read :)
i think an end-screen between the game's end & returning to the title page may help it feel more complete? (less looped? idk how to put it)
the idea of being either the kid or the kite is something i wouldn't have thought of - this option of character choices does a really good job at setting the overall tone of the game. i think, if you were to expand on the narrative a bit more, leaning into the places these 'characters' would go & see (and how - perception-wise) would be really interesting.
Hey! I absolutely loved seeing your idea come to life in this game! First of all, I appreciate how wonderful the writing is. I believe that's the strongest component to your work. I also really like the game's more minimalistic aesthetic, all the illustrations are really well-done without taking away from the main component of the game. I agree that music / sound effects will strengthen the kind of mood you're looking for. I think if you were to expand upon the game in terms of writing, I would love to further understand the traditions and meanings behind Basant-- it seems like a really joyous festival! And, perhaps the "characters" of the game (the kite or the kid) wind up making their way to buildings or places that are memorable to you in Karachi. For example, maybe at some point the kite gets stuck onto a window pane of a restaurant you loved visiting as a kid and that would be a great moment to talk about traditional / popular food of the area!
